Organic Farming
Healthy soil, healthy food, healthy people..
The earth is a living Being. The soil is the basis of all human life and the quality of its care affects not only the people who eat the food today, but the health of future generations.
Healthy soil means life-giving food grown without herbicides, pesticides or artificial fertilizers. Biodynamic agriculture goes further. Biodynamics recognizes that the soil itself is alive. Vitality of the soil structure affects the quality of the plants grown in it, and supports the physical strength of those who eat it.
The self-contained Biodynamic farm preserves and recycles life-forces through a rotation of crops, pastures and animals which provide manure for fertility. Naturally occurring plant and animal materials are combined in specific recipes during certain seasons. These recipies become concentrated forces used to organize and stimulate life in compost piles and fields. Plant life is intimately bound up with the life of the soil. Year by year the soil structure improves, thus the quality of procedure and crops are also elevated.
Chemical agriculture results in a deadened soil and artificially stimulated growth. Biodynamic food contains strong connections to rich, living soil. Quality, connection and potency of life-force is the aim!
